Planning Your Events and Creating Reminders

Gifts 'n Reminders gives you a visual way to plan all of the important dates for your friends, relatives, and business contacts.  The monthly calendar is very easy to use and simply by double-clicking on a day you can create reminders that will pop up on your screen well in advance of each event.

You can add annual events, such as holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries, or one-time events for your other special occasions.  And since holidays don't always fall on the same date each year, just make a selection from an extensive list of holidays and let Gifts 'n Reminders take it from there.

Reminders can be tailored specifically to meet the needs of each event.  For example, if you need to send a card for an event, just choose the type of card to send and tell Gifts 'n Reminders to remind you several days in advance.
 
 

 
 

Tracking Your Gifts Received, Gift Ideas, and Purchases

Gifts 'n Reminders gives you a way to track gift ideas and purchases for all of the important people in your life.  Each person will have their own unique list of gift ideas, and for each one you can enter:

  • The estimated cost.
  • The maximum cost.
  • Comments for the gift.
  • One or more stores where the gift can be found.

With a single click you can move a gift idea to the gift history, where you will have a record of the purchase.  Here, you can also enter:

  • The store where you bought the gift.
  • The date-of-purchase.
  • The actual cost, which will automatically be subtracted from a budget, if one is defined.
  • The event for which you purchased the gift.
  • Additional comments.  For example you may want to list the store's exchange and return policy for that gift.

Also, you can keep track of gifts that you have received for each person in your database.  For each gift received, you can track:

  • The date that the gift was received.
  • Who you received the gift from.
  • Who the gift was given to (in case more than one person is using the program).
  • Additional comments.
 
 

Describing Your Friends and Family

General Information.  Enter things like the person's address, email address, important date, favorite color, etc.  An unlimited comments field allows space to enter the likes and dislikes for the person as well.
 

Clothing Sizes.  Gifts 'n Reminders offers a  sophisticated way to enter clothing sizes.  First, you choose the person's Gender Type (woman, man, girl, boy, etc.) and a custom set of size fields will appear specifically for that gender type.
 

Interests and Hobbies.  You'll be able to list all of the subjects that interest this person as well as the hobbies that the person may have.
 

Budgets.  Limit your spending by entering multiple budgets for each person.  For example, if a person is associated with multiple events, you can have a budget for each one of them.

You'll be able to print several reports to help you organize your shopping trips, manage your budgets, and more.  Here is a list of the reports that are currently available with Gifts 'n Reminders:

Protecting Your Data With Passwords

Gifts 'n Reminders gives you a way to protect sensitive data by assigning passwords to each profile.  This will keep family members and close friends from seeing what you plan to get them!  You can set up a different password for each person.

Advanced settings allow you to add to the extensive list of relationships, department stores, and card-types.  You can also control when and how the program will check for reminders each day.
